Binay declares presidential bid — Pwede ba tumigil ka?!
MANILA, Philippines -Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay announced his bid for the presidency on Tuesday as he marked his 66th birthday in city hall.
In hs speech, the United Opposition president criticized the Arroyo government by bringing up issues like the national broadband network scandal and the fertilizer fund scam and said there was need for another “revolution.”
“I am acceptng your challenge to lead ths revolution toward a progressive and respected Philippines,” he said in Filipino to about 2,000 supporters, as they released yellow and blue balloons with the print “Makati ngayon, Pilipinas bukas” (Makati now, tomorrow the Philippines).
